Places to Visit in Ohio

Railroads has been a part of Ohio history since the Erie & Kalamazoo Rail Road was completed in 1836. In Southeastern Ohio coal was one of the most valuable minerals and with that comes a lot railroad history. The local places to visit page is here to help you find railroad locations both active and abandoned that you can visit. I plan to give you directions, photos, and history of these places. Please come back often to see new places added or contact me and submitted some of your finds that can included bridges, Tunnels, Depots, or whatever else you find that is railroad related both new and old. Along the Hockhocking Adena Bikepath, you'll find the railroad trusses at mile marker 14. The Directions above will lead you to a little pulloff on Glen Ebon Road beside the bikepath. You need to walk towards Nelsonville to find it. It will be on the left.
